What is Samvirk?

A consumer cooperative for members

By signing up for a hotel agreement through Samvirk, you secure accommodation for the conferences your local church is invited to. Samvirk is based on the principle that those who use Brunstad help pay for it.

What do you get?

Rights for the next 20 years

A hotel agreement entitles you to accommodation in a specific suite category, priority in room assignments, the option of vacation stays outside of conferences, parking (in most agreements), and co-ownership in Samvirk.

02 — Agreements

Hotel agreements

To enter into a hotel agreement, you must be a member of Samvirk. With membership, you also become a co-owner, with the associated benefits and rights.

Standard

20-year hotel agreement

Our standard agreement. Entitles the holder to stay in a specified suite category for up to a certain number of days per year. The contract price is an advance payment covering the entire 20-year period. In addition, a resort fee is charged monthly and for each stay.

The suite category specified in the agreement takes priority, but you may request other categories if space is available.

Older couple on the promenade during the conference

Flexible

1-year hotel agreement

A supplement to the 20-year hotel agreement, which covers the points requirement for one calendar year at a time. We also offer it as a standalone plan for members who are young, elderly, travel long distances, or are in a challenging life situation and therefore cannot commit to a 20-year hotel agreement.

Includes a fixed resort fee and a few vacation nights outside of conferences. Can be paid in ten installments from January through October.

For young people

UNG hotel agreement (18–26)

Young people make monthly payments until the end of the year in which they turn 26. The agreement takes effect the following year, when they turn 27. The start can be postponed until the year you turn 30.

The UNG agreement is worth 2,500 points and entitles the holder to approximately 5 conference nights in the smallest suite. The agreement can be upgraded the year before it takes effect.

How the points system works

The general rule is simple: you need 3,750 points to stay overnight at any BCC conference as an overnight guest or by booking together. With 7,500 points or more, you are also guaranteed your own suite in the category specified in the agreement. Points are valid for one year and cannot be transferred to others.

What you can get for your points

How far your points go depends on the size of suite you want and the number of conference nights you plan to use them on. Let's look at three different agreement sizes:

How points are calculated

When you book a suite for a conference, points are deducted for the entire conference, even if you only stay for part of the period.

The number of points per conference is calculated as follows: suite category ÷ total number of conference nights × number of nights in the conference.

In 2027 there are 17 conference nights in total. For a 7,500-point suite, this corresponds to 441 points per night.

Conference nights in 2027

The table below shows the distribution of conference nights and an example of point deductions in a small suite per conference in 2027. You can calculate exactly how many points you need at planner.samvirk.com.

Conference Number of nights 7,500-point suite 10,000-point suite
Sisters' and Brothers' Conferences 3 1,324 1,765
Easter and Pentecost Conferences 3 1,324 1,765
Summer Conferences 1 and 2 9 3,971 5,294
Advent Conference 2 882 1,176
Total 17 7,500 10,000

Rollover

If you have fewer than 7,500 points, it can be difficult to use up all your points every year. Therefore, unused points can be carried over to the next year, up to a maximum limit.

Hotel agreement Maximum rollover
2,500 3,500
3,750 2,500
5,000 1,500
5,500 1,100
Important: Points that are carried over can only be used for bookings — they do not count toward meeting the requirements of Section 1 of the Guest Policy. This means you need your regular annual point total (3,750 or more) to be guaranteed the right to stay overnight at all the conferences your local church is invited to.

Allocation and priority

With an agreement of 7,500 points or more, you are guaranteed a suite at all conferences you are invited to — provided you request it during the annual booking. You have top priority for the suite category that matches your agreement.

An exception is the Sisters' and Brothers' Conferences, where you are not guaranteed a suite in your category. The reason is that many married couples share a single hotel agreement and attend separate conferences, so the agreement can be used for both. In practice, however, there is plenty of capacity and most people get what they want.

With an agreement of fewer than 7,500 points, you are not guaranteed a suite at every conference. When a category is fully booked, Samvirk allocates the available suites based on point totals, booking history, and other relevant factors, ensuring that the allocation remains as fair as possible over time.

Tip: You get higher priority by booking with others. This is especially recommended if you have fewer than 7,500 points. Another tip for getting higher priority is to add named guests to your bookings right from the annual booking.

Vacation nights

Vacation nights are overnight stays outside of BCC conferences. You will not be deducted points for these nights, but they count toward the total number of days of use specified in the agreement. You pay a variable resort fee for these nights.

You can also use vacation nights at recurring conferences, provided you have registered, there is available capacity, and you have booked at the other conference. Note that points are deducted based on the highest suite category of the two bookings.

Support programs from BCC

BCC mission support

Covers part of the cost for members with long travel from countries with low purchasing power. Apply via My Samvirk during annual booking.

Local support program

Other local churches set aside a budget to support members who need financial assistance to pay for accommodation. Contact your local elder to find out how the process works in your local church.

03 — Booking

How to book

To ensure a fair allocation of suites, bookings are primarily made on an annual basis through My Samvirk. Available capacity can be booked on an ongoing basis via My Samvirk, but during periods of high demand, accommodation capacity is allocated in several rounds based on priority and contractual obligations.

1

Step 1

Submit your requests

Every fall, you submit your requests for the coming year in My Samvirk. In 2026, the annual booking period runs from August 3 to September 30.

2

Step 2

Receive an offer

Samvirk allocates the suites based on your eligibility and preferences, and you will receive an offer with reservations.

3

Step 3

Confirm the booking

Confirm the offer in My Samvirk. You can change your booking later if there is availability.

Bookings outside the annual booking period

Some people will be assigned an "unspecified room." This means you're guaranteed accommodation in at least the category specified in your booking, but the specific suite type will be determined closer to check-in.

After the annual booking, you can submit a change request — for example, to change suite type, add or remove conferences, or adjust the length of your stay. Samvirk continues to process new allocations on an ongoing basis until all change requests have been addressed. Available capacity is then made available for direct booking in My Samvirk.

Please note, however, that availability is not guaranteed — at conferences with high demand, typically spring and summer conferences, all slots may already have been allocated through the annual booking process.

Guest policy — who can stay overnight?

All overnight guests must be registered in a booking and fall into at least one of the following categories:

  1. Members with a hotel agreement through Samvirk
  2. Right-of-use holders and their spouses
  3. People under the age of 29 or under guardianship
  4. People aged 70 or older, with a spouse
  1. Members residing outside Western Europe
  2. Special permission from Samvirk
  3. New BCC members (last 2 years)
You can read the full guest policy here: Guest policy (PDF) →

Cancellation policy

To make the best use of capacity, it's important that anyone planning to cancel a booking does so as early as possible. That gives others the opportunity to book, and that's why we have cancellation rules.

Point deduction on cancellation

Points deducted on cancellation are tied to the specific conference. You cannot use them for other conferences, but if you book the same conference again, you can reuse the points.

If you have a 1-year hotel agreement, either standalone or as a supplement to a 20-year hotel agreement, you may still need it to cover this point deduction.

In My Samvirk you can see the exact amounts and terms that apply to each individual booking.

Book together

When you book with others, the points and resort fee are split equally among everyone in the group. If someone does not have enough points to cover their share, they will be offered a 1-year hotel agreement to cover the remainder.

One person creates the booking and invites the others via an invitation link. Everyone must accept the invitation, and the person who creates the booking becomes the booking owner and is responsible for ensuring everything is in order for everyone involved.

Tip: Your preferences will be given higher priority in the annual booking when you book with others.
04 — Pricing

Rules of conduct

All rules of conduct are available in the Oslofjord app. Here is a short excerpt:

01

Empty the trash regularly and before check-out. This is important to avoid overloading the waste management system on the day of check-out.

02

If you'd like to rearrange the furniture in the suite, that's perfectly fine, but please return everything to its original arrangement before you leave.

03

Take good care of the accommodation during your stay. Report any missing items or damage immediately to the hotel front desk.

Dock space at Oslofjord Marina

If you have an accommodation agreement with Samvirk, you can also apply for dock space at Oslofjord Marina. This gives you the opportunity to bring your own boat when you are at Brunstad – whether for a single conference, for day visits outside the conferences, or for the whole season.

How to apply

Each year a separate application form is sent out to members, with an application deadline.

The application deadline for 2026 has passed. If you wish to apply, send a request to marina@oslofjord.com with your name, phone number, address, boat type, length and width (cm), registration number and desired rental period.
